Crown Agents has recently conducted procurement and supply chain management training in Tanzania that will help strengthen the country's health system through the adoption of best practice, and ensuring value for money and sustainability.
As part of their plans to modernise their systems and operations, Tanzania's Medical Stores Department approached
Crown Agents to help upskill staff from key areas of their organisation. With Global Fund funding they worked with Crown Agents Training to set up customised training sessions covering Tendering & Contract Management and Supply Chain Management with two further modules to follow in February 2012 on Leadership and Warehouse Management.
The first two modules which took place in Bagamoyo during November/December proved extremely successful with participants saying "The course was so good to me, I gained a lot of experience due to practical way of teaching and I have enough knowledge on the issue of tendering and contract management. It is my hope that I can now be able to pursue all activities related to tenders and contract management." And, highlighting the importance of tailoring courses to the client, "The course was relevant to my field - procurement and logistics. Topics were covered well and were connected to my job/activities of MSD".
The subsequent two modules will take place in February 2012.
