For over 20 years Crown Agents has implemented projects in the Philippines on behalf of the Asian Development Bank and the Japanese government.
As the procurement agent for the Department of Finance we helped to implement eight tranches of JNPGA funding from 1990-2004, working in partnership with the Japanese Embassy and end-users to ensure its effective distribution. Private and public sector organisations have benefitted from imported equipment, spares and raw materials.
With a focus on poverty alleviation, revenue generation and institutional development, Crown Agents has from 2008-2010 supported the implementation of the Electronic Tax Information System (eTIS) within the Philippines' Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
We have assisted the privatisation of the Department of Public Works and Highways and have also worked with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) on the development of the National Single Window to improve trade facilitation using our trips system as the facility.
In 2009 we supported the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry to supply computers and IT equipment for over 1000 schools, using counter-funds generated by Japanese non-project grant aid (JNPGA).
