Crown Agents established a permanent Representative Office in Jordan (registered with the Ministry of Industry and Trade) in September 2004 to support our humanitarian and reconstruction work in Iraq. Much project activity takes place in Jordan, placing Crown Agents alongside other major international development stakeholders in coordinating the delivery of reconstruction services and interacting with our Iraqi clients.
We are helping to develop capacity within Jordan itself through seminars for financial institutions on risk management, credit skills and internal audit.
Our office supports our emergency assistance projects in Iraq on behalf of bilateral and multilateral donors, helping to build capacity and institutional sustainability as Iraq moves into its next phase of transition. We have helped to procure, deliver and install equipment for the health, power and municipal sectors to improve the living standards of the Iraqi people. We have also provided technical assistance to strengthen key public sector institutions.
We work in tandem with our Baghdad office and Iraqi staff to keep in close touch with donor and government officials so that Crown Agents is able to contribute to lasting stability in this challenging environment.
